How I Made A Difference

A dirty or a clean environment, which one do you choose? It is obviously the clean right? We can keep Singapore litter free and a clean and green island. To hit the target of litter free, everyone must play an important role. Littering cause harm to the environment. Currently, the ozone layer is depleting. As a result, harmful sun rays are entering through it. This have caused global warming.

These sun rays are harmful to our skins and can cause skin cancer. I attended a lesson to be an environmental champion. They showed a video on INCONVENIENT TRUTH. The video is very interesting. There is this guy presenting on the increase of temperature. Many icebergs melt and lots of glacier keep on falling down into the water. Nowadays, landfills are also being used up and Singapore is also a very small island which is almost completely full. In the olden days, people make use of things and not throw it away because of trend, they throw the thing away is when the thing is unable to use. Not like nowadays, going with the trend and not the use of it, but the look of it. Reusing and recycling of the product can also help with the environment. We should play our part for recycling too. Our school already plays a part of teaching us how to play our part. So we must be a environmental ambassador. Spreading around messages of how to reduce, reuse and recycle to our relative, love ones etc. In other country, like japan, people over there hold on to their rubbish until they see a rubbish bin. Unlike some of the Singaporeans throwing their litter everywhere.

On the whole, everybody must play their own part on saving the environment. The least that we can do to reduce the harm to save the environment is by using lesser plastic bag and if possible, use recycled bags, using public transport . Therefore, it is a shared responsibility when it comes to protecting our environment. We should be responsible for our own actions. This is where we belong and we should help to keep this place a clean one for everyone to live, play and work in.
